Triptych: War Bonds

I chose to focus on advertisements for war bonds and images of war because i feel that there is a vast difference between American view of war now as compared to pre-1950's. During WW2 people would starve themselves just to send a little more money to the troops, this attitude is portrayed through the images and drawings in this triptych.

  2. I really like how your layout for the second image. The black and white separated from the color with the plane helps the idividule images stand out.

  4. Beautiful!
I am not so much a fan of the middle one because the mushrrom cloud background on the other two makes them so dynamic!!
It is sick really, how glamorous these old war posters makes war look...
your organization of the third one is my favorite.

  5. This is a powerful piece. I could actually see this as a real propaganda poster or something.

  6. The first one is definitely most striking and communicates your theme, and I love it. I like the separation of black and white, the mushroom cloud background, and the underlying message of it all. In class you mentioned that you wanted to cut out more parts of the posters instead of having them stay square, however I actually like your formatting as it is!

  7. It's not exactly to my liking, but I think your purpose is effective :) Your panels have a poster-like/textbook feel to them, and bring back high school memories of history class.

  8. I like the idea for this triptych, but I think these images could be so much stronger if the images were cut out instead of left in their square format. I think it works for the first one, but the last two feel like they're separate images put together because they have to be where as the first one each of the images come together to make one. The first image is by far my favorite.
